From late 2005 to the early part of 2015 I’ve either been pregnant, breastfeeding or breastfeeding AND pregnant. My 3 kids are all 3 years apart and each breastfed for about 2.5 yrs. I didn’t get my period till they were each about 2 yrs old.
Throughout the 10 years I noticed a pattern developing. After their first birthdays I’d have an easier time losing weight. By the time they were almost 2 I was so close to whatever body goal I had at that time. Then I’d get my period back. I probably started gaining weight but after a couple of months I’d get pregnant again and the cycle started all over. All 3 kids are almost exactly 3 yrs apart!
Throughout the whole time I kept to my diet and worked out regularly. With each of them I did some type of beachbody workout program at home. I didn’t follow the schedule strictly and often mixed in group classes at the gym that I liked (body pump, ujam, turbo kick etc). I averaged about 4-5 a week for about an hour. Nothing too extreme. Diet wise I was eating 75/25 Paleo.
